Urban Ballerina: Down the Rabbit Hole, part TWO.
Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her, and to wonder what was going to happen next.
So she sat on, with closed eyes, and half believed herself in Wonderland, though she knew she had but to open then again, and all would change to dull reality -

Down the Rabbit Hole: Urban Ballerina
Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do:
...Alice had not a moment to think before she found herself falling down a very deep well.....
To be continued...

Fun and Colourful Faces: Modern Child Portraits
This is the second half of my Party Portrait sessions! The lighter half, and the very silly and fun part of the session. The kids are asked to choose from a series of props, whatever they want, for their images. It's amazing the different personalities you get through a session!
Because the kids are playing and having a good time with their friends, they are already in a great mood, not to mention they get snacks and drinks. It's a great time all around. The parents are also able to just wander around and chat with one another, no more standing behind the photographer saying "SMILE! SMIIIILE! Please just smile this one time!" and then feeling pressured to choose an image right at that moment or shortly after. At the same time parents were available for those little hair fixes and spot checks that are sometimes missed when kids are left on their own for pictures.
If you are interested in booking a Portrait Party session please see details under "Sessions" tab, and contact me!

Fine Art Faces: Modern Child Portraits.
A really exciting new part of my business this year is starting! I've decided to branch into doing portrait parties, or modern child school portraits.
Don't get me wrong, I love getting school portraits from the school! Who doesn't love to look back on those old pictures and have a good giggle. They are a pictorial growth chart, a way to look back at our "wonderful" fashion choices at the time. I love them, no matter how tacky. I look back at my own and see ringlets one year, a bowl cut the next, floral frilly dresses and then jean overalls and braces. Great memories...!
I wanted to create something a little more modern, a little more fun. First off I am going to share a few of the B&W Fine Art Faces. Next time I will be sharing the more funky, bright, crazy faces!
Here are some of my favorites.
If you are interested in a mini-session Portrait Party please look at the top tab "Session" for details!

Vintage wedding! So much fun!
I don't really DO weddings, but I was persuaded to do the wedding formals for this lovely couple (who has been on this blog before).
We were really apprehensive because the night before the session/wedding the weather channel called for thunder showers.. something very few would love on the day of their wedding (or photo session, in my case). We were thrilled then to have a hot sunny day! You can imagine my relief when I woke up that morning to see clear blue skies and the sun!
Aren't they beautiful?
Woohoo, we're married! If you're wondering why there is no one else there it's because the wedding didn't actually take place at this particular church.
Awesome much?
Thanks to the awesome family that trusted me to take their wedding formals! I still can't see myself jumping into weddings any time in the near future... but never say never! I think we had a great time and I am so glad that I was given this opportunity!
